There is a shortage of skilled construction labor in Clark County. Construction jobs offer opportunities for a wide range of steady work with competitive pay which contributes to a strong, local community and a healthy job market. More than just a job, as skill and experience are gained, there are opportunities to develop into management positions, and many people who enter the field eventually start their own businesses. Construction is like other fields of work where post-secondary education is often required for career advancement. Acquiring the necessary training and certifications can be an obstacle for many young people. In addition, skilled jobs often require that people have their own tools, which represents a significant financial investment. The Building Industry Association of Clark County recognizes this need in our community. Through their Building Futures Foundation, the BIA of Clark County helps to meet this need by supporting local individuals pursuing careers in the building industry. Since 2007, the BIA of Clark County has awarded 102 scholarships and tool box grants, representing a total investment of $161,250 in construction careers.
Evergreen Homes NW is a proud sponsor of the BIA’s Building Futures Foundation annual fundraiser. We’re committed to contributing to this locally-driven effort to support young people interested in working in the construction industry. We’re excited to share the news about the next fundraiser, a Casino Night planned for March 25, 2022. Visit Building Futures Foundation to learn more about the foundation, get updates about upcoming fundraisers, and to see the list of local people whose futures have benefited through support of this fundraiser.
